This page explains how to delete the Gift64 account you signed up for — and with it the personal data we hold about you, including any profile info we received via Google, Facebook, Microsoft, X, or Apple sign-in. You can do it yourself in the app, or email us if you can’t access your account.
1. Delete your account from inside Gift64
If you can still sign in, this is the fastest path. It takes about 30 seconds.
- Open https://gift64.com/login/signin and sign in with the email or social provider you originally used.
- Click your avatar (top right) → Account, or go directly to https://gift64.com/account/settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page. The very last item in the “Danger zone” section is Delete account.
- Click Delete account, read the confirmation screen, and confirm.
Once you confirm, we begin the deletion immediately. Your account is signed out everywhere and removed from public view within minutes. The full data wipe (described below) completes within 30 days.
2. Can’t sign in? Email us instead
If you’ve lost access to your sign-in method — for example, your old email, your social account, or your authenticator device — we can still delete your data on request.
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Account deletion request” and include:
- The email address (or social provider + handle) on the Gift64 account.
- A short statement that you are the account holder and want it deleted.
We may ask one or two follow-up questions to confirm you’re the owner of the account before we delete it. We respond within 30 days, and the deletion follows the same timeline as the in-app flow once verified.
3. What gets deleted
Account deletion removes the personal data we hold for you across all Gift64 surfaces (the public app, Shop, Ads, and Control). That includes:
- Your profile (name, handle, avatar, bio, locale, pronouns, birthday, phone).
- Your email address(es) and any verification records.
- Your password credentials and active sessions.
- Any social-login linkages (Google, Facebook, Microsoft, X, Apple) and the IDs we received from those providers.
- Two-factor authenticator secrets and backup codes.
- Giveaway entries, gift-card balances, and other activity tied to your user ID.
- Shop memberships, ad campaigns, and team roles you held.
4. What we may keep, and why
A small set of records is retained for legal, fraud-prevention, and accounting reasons even after deletion. We keep only what we’re required or strictly need to:
- Audit and anti-abuse logs for up to 12 months — sign-in attempts, abuse reports, and security events. These are cross-referenced by an internal user ID, not your name or email.
- Financial records (invoices, gift-card and payment transactions, Stripe payment IDs) for 7 years, as required by Canadian tax law. Your name and email are scrubbed; the transaction history is kept.
- Backups roll over on a 30-day cycle. Your data is purged from active systems immediately and disappears from backups within 30 days.
Retention details are spelled out in section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Revoke Gift64 from your social account
Deleting your Gift64 account removes the link on our side. If you also want to revoke Gift64’s permissions on the social provider’s side — so the “Apps connected to your account” list there no longer mentions us — use these links:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Facebook: facebook.com/settings → Apps and Websites
- Microsoft: account.live.com/consent/Manage
- X (Twitter): x.com/settings/connected_apps
- Apple: account.apple.com → Sign in → Sign in with Apple
This step is optional. It does not delete any data on our side — it just tells the provider to stop sharing future profile info with us.
6. Questions
